Your Puppy & Kitten Vaccine Schedule
Below is a general guideline for vaccinations and preventive care during your pet’s first year. Your veterinarian will customize this based on your pet’s breed, lifestyle, and environment.
- 6 Weeks: FVRCP (3-in-1) Vaccine
- 12 Weeks: FVRCP Booster, Rabies Vaccine, and FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) Vaccine*
- 16 Weeks: Final FVRCP Booster and FeLV Booster*
- 4–12 Months: Spay/Neuter (Cats can become pregnant at 4 months!)
*FeLV vaccine is especially recommended for kittens with outdoor access or who live in multi-cat households.
- 6 Weeks: DHPP (5-in-1) Vaccine and Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- 12 Weeks: DHPP+Lepto (6-in-1) Vaccine, Bordetella Booster, and Rabies Vaccine
- 16 Weeks: DHPPL Booster
- 4–12 Months: Spay/Neuter (larger breeds: closer to 6–12 months) and Final DHPPL booster
What to Bring to Your First Visit
- Paperwork from the breeder or shelter
- A list of questions or concerns
- A fresh stool sample for testing
- Some treats to reward their bravery!
